Tailor Made Couplers

Swapping couplers on freight cars is usually straightforward. Dealing with locomotives (both steam and diesel) and passenger cars can be a test of one's patience. The issue with steam locomotive pilot couplers has been addressed to a degree by Prototype Couplers previously with a generic solution. We hope to address this issue more completely in the future by offering pilot coupler retrofit kits for specific locomotives. The issue with otherwise highly detailed diesel and passenger cars is one we have only started to explore.

In general, all these models require something different and we can't address all of them at the same time. Please email us and let us know if you have a particular model you would like to see us address first.

ET2P87A	1 Assembled Type E PRR Drop Coupler Tailor Made for Broadway Limited Imports Steam Locomotives. This coupler is designed to replace the dummy pilot on the front of some BLI Steam Locomotives. This has been tested on the HO Scale Paragon4 PRR S2, Paragon4 PRR Q2, and Paragon3 PRR T1. May fit other BLI Locomotives but I have not tested them personally. Our couplers do not come pre blackened. This is so we can accommodate customers that may not want to handle parts that have had any chemical treatment. If you would like your couplers chemically blackened before they are sent to you please select the "Blackened" option when ordering.
